1. PLAYER REQUIREMENT. Xristos currently digitizes video and audio in Real Media or Mp3 format. You can view this content with version 8.0 of the Real Player available at:

http://www.real.com/products/news/index.html

If you are experiencing problems, do this first....

a. Download the Real Player 8 installer.

b. Install the player.

c. Try viewing the multimedia files again. Here is a small test file:

videotest.rm

If you are still experiencing problems, try going to the Real Player, and under the help menu click on "Check for Update". This will verify that you are running the very latest player and plug-ins.

2. FIREWALL ISSUES. We currently stream via http on port 8080. If your firewall administrator has that port blocked you may not be able to view content. We recommend viewing our site from another location (not behind a firewall) or instructing your firewall administrator to allow streaming on Port 8080.

3. VIDEO MONITOR SETTINGS. Xristos is best viewed at 1024 x 768 for your display setting. Please note, however, that many people have experienced problems in viewing video if their colors were only set to 256 colors. Increase this if you are having problems seeing the video.

4. OLDER MULTIMEDIA FILES. Some of our older files were digitized in Windows Media format. That player is available at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/en/download/default.asp

5. QUICKTIME. Some of our live broadcasts are done in Quicktime format. This requires the quicktime player available at:

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Other help topics related to this are:

a. NO AUDIO. If you have WINDOWS, you CAN see video, but NO AUDIO:
1. Go to Properties

2. Open Control Panels

3. Open Quicktime Control Panel

4. Open Audio Out

5. Select WAV-Windows Preferred

6. Retry the broadcast page:

http://www.demandstreams.com/xristos/broadcast.htm

b. LOGO ONLY. If you have WINDOWS, but you see the Windows Media logo only:

1. Go to the Program Menu

2. Go to Quicktime Player

3. If it asks you to restore previous settings while opening the player, say YES.

4. Retry the broadcast page:

http://www.demandstreams.com/xristos/broadcast.htm
